ich habe das alles mal ausprobiert. Alle Plugins weg, selbst da lief HomeBridge nicht mehr. Dann Homebridge de- und wieder installiert. Ohne Erfolg. Ja...irgendetwas zerschossen. 
Ich habe die letzenzwei Std wieder nach Deiner hervoragenden Anleitung das DIng wieder aufgesetzt. Geht... Jetzt mit Buster und aktuellen Node (LTS). Da könntest Du in Deiner Anleitung theoretisch die 10er Version weglassen....

Die Option ist bei mir nicht gesetzt.
HOMEBRIDGE_OPTS=-I -U /var/homebridge
Wie oben gesagt, alles lief normal bis ich vor einigen Tagen mal ein apt-get update & upgrade gemacht hatte. (Mein Backup der sd- Karte hat leider nicht funktioniert....-> ist aber eine andere Baustelle, an die ich mich mal ranwagen muss wenn alles wieder läuft)
Ja... die Homebridge wird irgendwie gestoppt. Ich selbst...nunja. Nur unwissend, wenn. Homebridge is running on Port whatever. Die Zeile gibt es in meinem Log nicht.
Es ist nicht so, als dass ich den Log vorenthalten wollte :-)...Ich dachte es reicht einen Ausschnitt, weil nichts wesentliches dann weiter kam....

Ich habe mal "dirty-like" die Installationsschritte nochmals durchgeführt. Bin auch jede Config durchgegangen, die in Deiner Anleitung beschrieben ist. Neustart...und dann noch immer dieses Ergebnis.

leider beides mal nein - neustart hat nichts gebracht ( auf keinen der Devices, andere Homekit Items, die nicht via Homebridge laufen werden korrekt angezeigt) und WLAn ahbe ich nicht laufen. Nur Lan. Homebridge ist auch unter ssh zu erreichen.
Auch keine Ui vorhanden Ich weiß nicht obs wichtig ist, aber ich hatte vergessen zu sagen, dass ich die config-ui-x nach Deiner Anleitung auch separiert hatte....
[UPDATE1: ich habe das ui wieder am laufen... ich habe die Anleitung von dir bzgl ui wieder durchgeführt --> Status Homebridge ist aber "gestopped", im Log sehe ich aber dass die systemzustände der Gertäe ändern...(!!??)]
[UPDATE2:...so, alles mögliche restartet, es kommt der gleiche log wie oben... die ersten Zeilen verwirren mich... Node stooped....started...... dan läufts weiter, keine weiteren Fehlermeldungen. Was mir auffällt: es kommt kein QR Symbol...]

ich wollte mal meine Homebridge (nach dieser Anleitung hier aufgesetzt) updaten und habe sie wohl dadurch zerschossen...
- ich habe node lts geupdatet (12.13.0), ist als aktiv geennzeichnet mit n
- die plugins, die dann probleme machten neu istalliert
- die config.json überprüft... kein Fehler

Ich glaube ich habe nach ein Update der Plugings ein ähnluches Problem, Allerdings auf hombridge-hue. Ich habe die Homebridge nach sschustes Anleitung aufgesett und habe auch node auf lts.... Ich komme gerade nicht weiter :-/

wie schon erwähnt, bin ich sehr zufrieden mit der aufgesetzten Homebridge nach Deiner Anleitung. Ich würde gerne das System wie es gerade läft backupen (oder auch imagen). Kann ich dets backup tool dafür verwenden?

danke für diese Anleitung. Den Eintrag, einmal um 4 Uhr morgens bei mir eu zu starten habe ich auch mal gemacht. Kleine Linux-Anfängerfragen habe ich dennoch:
- Angenommen, ich möchte nur jeden zweiten Tag resetten....: 0 4 * * * sudo reboot -> Kommt beim letzen Sertn dann 1,3,5,7 (also Kommas) oder brauche ich jedesmal eine neue Zeile für den jew, Tag?
- Auch (blöde) Anfängerfrage: Einfach so ein reboot ohne Homebridge vorher zu beenden (Ich habe nach der guten Anleitung von sschuste installiert, also glaube ich Homebridge als Dienst...?)? Oder kann man sich dabei etwas "zerschießen"?

Ich hatte das gleich problem. Geholfen hat das Ausloggen aus den iCloud account der Steuerzentrale (bei mir atv4) und meinem iPhone. Neustart, dann wieder anmelden....
Dann gings.... Schon komisch....

Nach erfolgreichem Start von Homebridge nach der hervorragenden Anleitung im Forum mit einigen Plugins bin ich erstmal sehr zufriedenen.
Jetzt würde ich gerne noch openhab2 auf das gleiche Gerät (RPi3b+) installieren, da ich mein innogy smarthome gern über Openhab2 ins Homebridge bringen möchte. Derzeit habe ich openhab2 auf meiner synology.
Frage: geht beides zusammen gut auf dem Rpi? Hat jemand Erfahrung damit gemacht?

Da die auf der Synology liegende OpenHab2 Installation auch von außen nicht erreichbar war, konnte es nur noch an Apple liegen. Alle Devices ausgeschaltet, auch RPi mit Homebridge, dann wieder hochgefahren. das wars....
Hoffentlich eine einmalige Sache....

PS. Offtopic - ich würde gerne auch die OpenHab2 (Innogy SmartHome gibt es nicht auf Homebridge) aus der Synology auslagern, am liebsten auch auf dem gleichen RPi 3 mit Homebridge... irgendwelche negativen Erfahrungen damit zufällig?

ich habe es gerade aus dem Mobilfunknetz ausprobiert - wieder gleiches Verhalten. Nicht erreichbar. Außer die Hue Komponenten. Ich werde zuhause mal alle Apple Geräte neustarten und schauen. STimmt....der RPi ist derzeit sowohl im WLAN als auch über LAN angeschlossen. Ich werde nachher mal das Kabel abziehen... und berichten.

Hallo liebe Community,
so... heute kurzentschlossen ein Rpi 3 aus der Stadt besorgt und nach der hervorragenden Anleitung erfolgreich Homebridge darauf installiert, samt Hue-Plugin, Fritz-Plugin, Netatmo-Plugin und Neato-Plugin. Danke an die MAcher der Anleitung.
Eine FRage habe ich hier dennoch. Es lässt sich alles von meinen ios Geräten im internen WLAN steuern/schalten. Die Homekit-Zentrale ist ein AppleTV. Aber außerhalb des WLAN (im Mobilfunkmodus) bleiben die Icons auf "Aktualisieren" und dann auf "Keine Antwort" stehen. Außer die Hue - Lichter. Die kann ich auch dann noch schalten.
Woran kann das liegen?

Dann werde ich mir doch heute in der Stadt einen Rpi3 besorgen und nach der Anleitung hier loslegen, denn viel langsamer als auf dem Docker/Synology wollte ich das System nicht unbedingt haben. Wenn hier die Erfahrungen mit dem 3er gut sind ist es mir dann so lieber.
Nur zur Dokumentatation... Die Synology DS218 hat einen Apollolkae Intel Celeron DualCore (J3355) und 2GB Ram.

mein erster Beitrag und gleich eine Frage als Anfänger...
Derzeit habe ich die oznu Homebridge Docker Pakete auf meiner Synology218+ am laufen und...es läuft, jedoch möchte ich meiene Synoloy entlasten und würde gerne sparat Homebridge installieren. DIe Anleitung hier liest sich gut (alternativ hatt ich an die ios App gedacht...aber dann wäare ich warscheinlich wieder properitär unterwegs wenn ich etwas ändern wollte?)
Ich habe hier ein Rpi 2 rumfahren. Ist das ausreichend schnell genug? Oder macht ein Rpi 3 das ganze wirklich flotter?
